2009 01 01 Hair

Hair

Humans have hair all over. Some say it is a carry-over from evolution from apes. It helps keep us warm. It stands on end when we’re cold. It can be shaped on our heads. For some, it disappears as we age. It comes in many shades. If it’s not a shade we like, we can change it. It is the focus of cuts, trims, shaves…or not! Men usually have more on the face. In adults hair collects under arms and surrounds our private parts. Here are a few observations about hair in poetic form.

Hair

Shaped and chopped,
Coiffed and dropped,
Colored and cropped,
Lopped and topped.

Mopped and plopped,
Wigs are swapped,
New shapes doffed,
Playfully bopped.

Curled and swirled,
Buoyed and girled,
Swizzled and twirled
Braided or knurled.

Dark or Fair,
It’s always there,
Combed with care,
Or spiked to dare.

Hair’s to enjoy,
For a girl or boy,
Showing you’re coy,
Or good to employ.
